How far did you overclock it?

How do your games run? Framerate + settings & such ? smile.gif

960T's are on for $124 on newegg.
i5-2500k's are $219 on newegg.
Both offer roughly the same gaming performance.

Roughly is probably not the right word, maybe ballpark biggrin.gif
Here is a comparison of the 965 and 2500K, plus 2500k will OC much better.
I am not saying dont go AMD, they have great budget CPU's. Also microcenter has the 2500K for under $170.

A 960T is a steal for $120, most of the time they will unlock to X6's.

Follow my guide in my sig (newbie guide). Offers a pretty good explaination for a LOT of stuff. The Q6600 is a bottleneck because of its low FSB. If you can push that to 400+ MHz then you should be fine but it will still be bottlenecking even then. My Q6600 caused bottlenecks even at 465MHz FSB (3.72Ghz effective) on my GTX 560 Ti.

So you would not pay an extra $50 for a 2500k?

As far as my P43 board could take it, which was only 3.1ghz frown.gif
and well the last games I played were Crysis 2 on 1080P, before the DX11 patch was released, managed to get 40-65FPS, Lost Planet 2 on DX11/1080P I'd get 50-70FPS, NFS Undercover 1080P/highest everything, it'd manage 80FPS+. That's all the games I've played on this card redface.gif

Implying you can get a $170 2500K everywhere?
No point in investing in a OLD platform now, if you are to buy anything, might as well go with SB or a hexacore AMD.

If you live near a Microcenter you can get a 2500k (i think) with a mobo for under $250.
