I thought of a genius idea a couple minutes ago! so i made a ustream.tv account so that i can hold an open broadcast for anyone to see me working live on my mods! i'll post a link later to the tv, it also makes the process of giving feedback an extra dimension.
if any of you guys are interested: streaming

this is the moment you've all been waiting for! pictures on sleeving! i've only got the black done on the 24 pin right now because i've been super busy and i really didn't want to have to stress out about finishing it as soon as possible so i'll be going at this slowly. my last sleeves turned out really nice though. so at least i'm getting it now. shouldn't take too long to do the rest. i'm averaging a pin every 2-3 minutes.

my previous problem in pictures solved by Banditstpk: (HIGH RES PICS WARNING!)

Yes i know that the ends are showing, but when you put them into the connector you cannot see them. they still hold strong and its a lot easier to do so i'm gonna keep doing that.

Any tips would be appreciated and be sure to comment! my last day of class is on friday so i should start being able to do a lot more starting then

i am going to be honest.. those ends look horrible!! biggrin.gif why are you going so far back with the end of the paracord?

i will take more photos of the cables before they enter the connector tomorrow for you so you can see what i mean and im thinking of doing a quick video. my only gripe with your sleeving is the burned look as the paracord enters the connector

i know they look horrible. lol. thanks for the honesty. but i did some test fittings and it ends up looking the same. i'm gonna try putting them down lower on the rest of them and if i can actually get it to work out (every other time it hasn't worked out) then i'll redo those (i have lots of extra length on each sleeve in case i did want to redo the top)

By the way: Constructive criticism does not demotivate me on something, it only makes me want to get it right. so i'll try the sleeving "the right way" probably on the 8 pin when i have so time and if it works i'll redo the work i've done on the 24 pin

Yes it does. so i'm planning ahead for the water cooling, and i'm thinking i'm gonna wanna put dual rads in this case, well this case is awesome for that with a little bit of modding. i looked into cutting HD cage 3 spots until i stumbled onto this 5.25" bay for 2 SSD's with USB 3.0. This thing is amazing and the best part is: i'm not going to lose any of my 5.25" bays and instead of having a dead bay for the USB 3.0 with no other funcionality, this lets me cut up my HD cage 5 slots and just leave a hanging HDD for storage! amazing! i've also seen the things done with mounting a 120mm fan in 3 5.25" bays because each one is 40mm by 120mm and i think i'm going to do that to fill up the other 3 spots for even more cooling!

Bad News is: i've got 20 AP Calc BC homework assignments to do (procrastination!) and some other labs due friday because thats my last day of class

Good News is: After Friday i'll have all the time (and money) to be able to get some serious modding done on my case! pics and diagrams to come later tonight!

EDIT: for others who might want something similar but with more mounting ability, i was also considering this 5.25" HDD/SSD Dual Bay but then realized i still wanted to put a 120mm fan in the top for some more cooling. and for others interested in even more storage: 4 in 3 5.25" bay converter for those who want to get rid of the HD cage completely. i'm going coolermaster because of the possibilities of customization on the front panel of this.

Also: does anybody have any ideas on possibly how i can clean up these wires for now? i have 2 fan spots open on my NZXT Sentry 2 Fan controller and i'm not using them right now, but i'll be using them later for RAM cooling in some way and the 120mm fan in the 5.25" bays
