Is there a certain way I should set all my GPU settings in the "NVIDIA Settings" utility?

Yes. Leave them alone entirely for the time being, and make adjustments in-game only thumb.gif

Later on, you may want to TRY using it for certain game profiles (don't use the global settings, ever), if there's specific things that aren't supported in the in-game settings.

But you should know that it's relatively rare that NVCP actually gives you the ability to 'turn on' things that the in-game settings don't already allow.

About the only thing I typically use it for is just to SEE if Transparency AA is supported in a game w/o actually having the option in it's own settings. Usually it doesn't work, but it's worth a try if you have a lot of extra GPU power to spare and everything is already maxed in the game.

Also, sometimes Ambient Occlusion is enabled for the game profile, but isn't an in-game option ... so forcing it via NVCP is the only way to get it. I have AO forced for my Diablo 3 NVCP game profile, for example. That's one of the very few profiles I've adjusted in NVCP.

Aside from that, NVCP is fairly useless (in the general sense, but not always) nowadays because most things that are 'supported' by the game engine are already available as choices in the game, and it's more reliable to set things in the game.

Okay so im running a fresh install of windows with the latest drivers and like i said im still getting nowhere near as much fps as i should.

I ran the intwlburn test and my cpu seems to be just fine.

I ran a 3dmark11 adv on extreme and i got a crappy score of x2117.

What can i do next to find out whats causing me not to get good fps?

Is your cpu overclocked? You want your cpu around 4ghz for the best performance, for games you want faster single thread performance and overclocking is the only thing that will give you that. Overclock and you will see your gpu score jump a ton.

Your 3DMark11-scores are fine

Is this only happening in Tera Online? Is it possible to lower draw distance or object/model quality?

So far I've only retested with Tera Online because it's the only game I re-installed so far. I was under the impression my hardware could run this game easily at 60+ FPS (See how I noted earlier my friend with the same CPU and Motherboard but with a GTX 480 was getting 60-80fps on the same max settings. His card isn't overclocked, and his CPU is only OC'ed by the default setting to 3.7ghz that you can choose in BIOS under "CPU Level Up")

I'v also noticed that my RAM seems to be at a low frequency, could that cause any problems?

^ Knock your RAM up a multiplier level. It looks like you have 1600MHz running at 1240MHz.

Also knock your CPU-NB freq. up a few multiplier levels, just throw it up to the 2600MHz area for starters, also raise the CPU-NB voltage to 1.25v when you do this. Then test again see how performance changes.

It's as simple as hitting the "+" key to where the multiplers are. If you post pictures of your bios I'll mark what to change. The DRAM has a multipler and so does the CPU-NB. There should also be a CPU-NB voltage listed which will need to be changed to 1.25v.. all should be on the main part of the bios where you OC the CPU.
