Thread Starter

Different source, my original source was PureBasic Forums but couldn't link a thread, to another thread. Thus picked what ever source was most information. I tried searching it (search engine sucks) with not a single result... thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Exactly, Linux is simple. There's plenty of guides out there that allows you do learn how to do more with it, but if all you wana do is work, games and social media it's just as simple as windows.

There's nothing hard about using a Linux based system as long as you stay with relatively simple distros such as Ubuntu or Mint. I don't see many gamers willing to use something like Gentoo though.

Other issues of concern are driver support for GPUs. Both AMD and nVidia have issues with switchable graphics on laptops.

I prefer Linux over Windows for crunching and folding, but it is a pain to switch from OS to OS, and VM's perform worse. If they can pull this off not only will I switch to Linux, but I'll become strictly a Source gamer. I'm sure that's what they're counting on tongue.gif

If good games and powerful creative software were to support linux, I wouldn't be on windows..

If steam goes to linux, Both GPu companies will have good incentive to improve their Linux drivers, simply because alot of people ~might~ start going towards it.

Probably, I hear that Visual Studio is the Photoshop of coding, it has no true competitor.
Just what I hear, though. I personally don't know.
