PCI E 3.0, faster memory controller on die supporting higher memory speeds and producing greater bandwidth, less power consumption, higher multipliers, better HD graphics which allow you to use the lucidlogic software and onboard graphics to increase FPS in games, and 2x the Quicksync processing speed if you are doing any ripping of movies (transcoding).
Just know that if you go sandy bridge you are buying last generation processors...

This is true, and it is a good point, but we must also keep in mind what the user is doing with the chip. For a slightly OCed chip used for gaming, I'm not denying that the IB chips are good, they have their purpose. But if you are looking for a chip that runs cool while being OCed, as the OP stated he was looking for, you can't beat the SB chips. Sure, you're at 4.5GHz with temps in the 60's, but my 2500k is at 4.78GHz and only hits 55C max with a Hyper 212+.

If the OP is looking for a chip that stays coolest around 4.5GHz, the SB is going to win every time. As snipe stated, at 4.5GHz the 2500k can stay in the mid 40sC range with just a Hyper 212+ (which as far as air coolers go is pretty cheap, but effective). Really, you're looking at 15-20 degree difference for the same OC and roughly the same speed (yes, I know IB will be faster at the same clocks, but not by a noticable amount). Assuming the OP is going to have this computer in a smaller room (as most do) 15-20 degree temp difference could make a huge difference in the temperature of the room.

I'm just saying, yes the IB is a good chip for what it is meant for (mainly it is cheaper to run), but from what the OP said he/she is looking for, the 2500k is going to be a better chip for him/her.

I wanna mention I just got a 3570k and think I might keep my 2500k. The thing is my 2500k is at 4.8ghz and so far it looks like this 3570k will Max at 4.6ghz. It takes way to much for me to make 4.8ghz stable. But at 4.8 its pretty quick. Still need to run a slew of benchmarks to see how it runs at 4.6ghz. Hell even the 2500k does 5.0ghz and stays cooler than the 3570k at 4.6ghz

Why on earth would you trade 10C for an additional ~40W more power consumption? That thinking is so irrational! What benefit are you gaining by going from 65C down to 55C, while going from 140W to 180W consumption??? Are you kidding?

Not to mention the IPC improvement! 10% is the general level of change that a human will notice (in anything). IB has several scenarios where it is over 10% faster than SnB clock for clock, x264 being one of them at 14%.

Please, for the love of God, stop recommending SnB over IB!!

hahaha, I love when people have the nerve to complain about 40w. My Subwoofer uses 1000W. If I was really THAT worried about saving 40W, I would turn off 1 light bulb. That would save me 100W.

Some people have different priorities...Just because you can afford to run tons of wattage for hours on end doesn't mean the next person can. Some people look for the lowest power consumption in their computers, but don't want to sacrifice all the power.

I only play games, and at very rare occasions i make gameplay videos. But gaming mostly, I will be overclocking with my V6GT, I'm gonna try for at least 4.5ggz or so. I've heard that since Ivy Bridge is the "Tock" that it isn't as good as sandy bridge for low heat and Overclocking.
They both cost about the same here so that's not an issue. I'm also planning on getting this http://119.47.125.81/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=93779 motherboard cause it's cheap and has only 1 HDMI port, and the rest are mostly USB (which is Exactly what i want)
I don't need Inbuilt graphics either, I've got a HD6950.

Sorry, but I can't stop reccomending SB over anything because I've had too good of an experience with all 3 of the top SB chips (2500k, 2600k and 2700k). Like I've said before IB has its place, if saving power is what you're looking for, IB is it. But (as highlighted above), the OP stated he was looking for a chip that would produce low heat and be good for OCing and the SB is top at that. Yes, it uses more power, here you are correct, but I don't particularly care about the power consumption. What I'm looking at (and what the OP asked for) is the SB chips OC easier, run cooler and are easier to cool than the IB chip.

I know IB uses less power and are ~10% faster clock for clock (for some things), but I'm never going to be sold on them due to the heat issue. Frankly, I fold on 7 system's 24/7, if I cared anything about power consumption, I'd shut down some of my systems before I'd buy a CPU just because it uses less power.

Now if someone can show me numbers of where the IB is better at folding clock for clock than the SB, I'd buy one in a hearbeat, but I haven't seen anything that would suggest that. Seeing that from what I've read, they are harder to OC than the SB chips, and the SB are folding dominators right now, that's where I'm putting my money, but that is just me.

But the fact is it's only 40W. That really is nothing, if people can't afford to run that kind of Processor then what graphics card are they using, a HD 5450?

hahaha i love when people have the nerve to laugh at 40w!

You see how easy it is to use your argument against you? That's because you don't have one.

Your subwoofer peaks at 1000W, and might sustain 750W during a bass test. It is not using nearly that power during a song, even one with heavy bass.

Are you really using 100W bulbs still? Last time my house was full of 100W bulbs was in the 80s.

The whole point of mentioning 40W was to compare it to 10C. Why are you not laughing about dropping from 65C to 55C? Can we keep this conversation at least moderately intelligent?
