Is my Q9400 damaged?

Hi, I'm new. smile.gif
I bought this cpu used some days ago, I see that some gold pins are darker than others:

I tried cleaning them but it's the same.

Do you think I should return the cpu because it's faulty?

See if it works, if not return. It is very unlikely that it wont work due to the spots.

Hi, I installed it in my computer yesterday and it seems to work, how can I test it better?
I did 7 intel burn test and it passed.

thats a good sign. do some real world stress testing. photoshop, BF3, video encoding.. whatever you intended to do with it.. and it all is well. overcock that bad boy

It doesn't look damaged to me. If it's working, then everything is fine. Run prime95 to stress the hell out of it. Make sure all the ram is being seen by the OS.

thats nice to hear.

could you clean it off? it looks like something scratched it but it should be find as long as theres contact on the pins.
