I thought so too, dont see what is soo good about the game but I did not play the other diablos, im also not a fan of the art style; I expected a more mature art style at least for this game but blizzard has proved again they are the masters of the one cartoony art style. I might buy this if a bunch of my friends get it, but since I do not see any preorder bonuses its really not worth preordering.

I'll probably buy it at release, but I'm not going to preorder it.

I'd rather earn interest on my own money for myself.

I'm holding off on buying this until this term is over.

I can't afford to get sucked into a video game right now... redface.gif

You either 'get' the game, or you don't. Most younger gamers, or gamers that didn't play D2, might not like the genre. For the same reason why your parents probably think the music you listen to is terrible, and vice versa. tongue.gif

I was a big fan of JRPGs on the snes when I was a kid. Then at the end of the snes life cycle i slowly transitioned into the pc gaming master race. I played the first Diablo during my lunch breaks in highschool and I liked it enough to buy Diablo 2 when it came out. I still have the original box/cd.

I think after playing so many awesome online/offline RPGs over the years has spoiled it for me. Besides the whole easier to sell in game items for real money deal theres nothing else that stands out for me.

Or maybe Lineage Eternal is what changed my mind on what a modern top down view rpg should be like tongue.gif

Jay himself stated in a recent interview that "The beta section of D3 is really boring, the game gets so much better later". It's designed as a tutorial. Maybe you'll find enjoyment in it with the full game. I know if I could only play 1/3 of the first Act of D2, It would be very boring. tongue.gif

If you enjoyed D1 and D2.. Grab the normal edition, I'm sure you'll get $60 out of it. Sometimes it takes a little while to get back into the hack and slash groove. thumb.gif

Well DUH... they have a commercial, and it's airing during primetime at that. If Skyrim didn't remind us of anything it's that commercials can double your sales. They reach the gamers who don't follow gaming news websites as hard as we do.

This. I had people that know nothing about video games come up to me and ask about Skyrim. The commercials were everywhere!
