I'm looking for a fan controller that will fit behind the door of my Lian Li PC-P80N. I just found out that the stock fan controller that came with the case only provides a measly 6W per channel and there's only 2 channels on the controller.

Lamptron FC5 v2(30W per channel)/NZXT Mesh (30W per channel)/NZXT Mix (50W per channel). The NZXT ones should fit, since the knobs (or whatever you call them) aren't that big, I'm not sure tho.

How would the Lamptron FC5v2 fit with the knobs sticking out? Does it have retractable knobs like the Scythe KM2? How about the Lamptron Touch, FC9 and FC10? How does the FC10 even work?

I'm liking the NZXT Mix but I'm reading a lot of bad reviews about them, mainly incompatibility issues with certain fans and the controller causing buzzing and whining sounds. Does any of the claims hold any water?

I only have experience with 2 of the NZXT controllers, the Sentry 2 and the Sentry LX. The sentry 2 is actually touch screen, and works very nice. The LX is not touch screen, it just has a flat LED screen, but is controlled with buttons. The Sentry 2 also only takes up 1 drive bay, and I believe has a higher power rating per channel.

I only have experience with 2 of the NZXT controllers, the Sentry 2 and the Sentry LX. The sentry 2 is actually touch screen, and works very nice. The LX is not touch screen, it just has a flat LED screen, but is controlled with buttons. The Sentry 2 also only takes up 1 drive bay, and I believe has a higher power rating per channel.

Sentry 2 & LX aren't gonna cut it at 6w - 10w per channel I need at least 20w per channel for three 140mm intake fans that use around 5.4w each.

I really like the Sentry Mix but the bad reviews are keep me away, guess this calls for a leap of faith.

Just get the mesh, it's 30w per channel. The only negative is you can't completely turn the fans off.
