Triple Catleaps, help.

Hi OCN!

I have over the last few years intensively been following this forum, but never had a need to post - until now! Now I need your help!

Im considering (very close to doing) upgrading my setup with 3x Catleap monitors and treat myself with a GTX 680 4GB card aswell. The question at hand isn't about performance, instead its about if its even possible. Can I run three monitors from a single card?
Taken from Nvidias website: "Standard Display Connectors: One Dual Link DVI-I, One Dual Link DVI-D, One HDMI, One DisplayPort".
I assume (know) that the DVI-I would just go digital and therefore allowing me to run two of the catleaps. Now, what im wondering, would a simple/passive displayport to duallink DVI-D suffice?

Thanks in advance,
Holer

I would check out the CatLeap Monitor Club as it has tons of info:

As for having 3 monitors off one card, you would have to use DVI-D or HDMI for all the monitors since DVI-I doesn't support 2560x1440. Or a DisplayPort to HDMI/DVI-D adapter.

And you would most likely need active adapters.

I run two off the DVI outputs on my top card. Dunno about adding a third monitor to the mix though.

Both the DVI-I and DVI-D on your (future) GTX 680 will support the full resolution on your monitor.

You will require an active DP to DL-DVI adapter in order to drive the full resolution off displayport; no simple passive adapter will do it. Look for one with a USB connector.

Could you suggest a such adaptor?
Since I can run two of the screens off the DVIs, that also leaves the HDMI. Would a HDMI -> DVI-d be a better solution than DP -> DVI-d (im for some reason guessing not..)?

Btw, what are the exact forum rules on posting links to websites, shops, and products?

Here is one. The monoprice ones are cheaper, but they're minidisplayport (you'd need a displayport->minidisplayport adapter).

The HDMI port on the GTX 680 might be able to run a Catleap that has native HDMI, but there are no HDMI -> DL-DVI adapters that exist on the market.

I am running triple Catleap (well technically dual Catleap and one Achieva) on my 7970CF setup. I use two mDP Active Dual Link adapters ($55 a piece off ebay; pm me for link) for the two Catleaps, and the Achieva is plugged into the DVI-D; all monitors are plugged into the same card.

I run a single 6970 with 2 monoprice adapters. It does the trick but the adapters can be very finicky. Sometimes when I reboot the screens stay black and I have to unplug the adapters and plug them back in for the computer to recognize the monitors and turn them on.
