I went from 6950cf to a 7970 and it was a great transition the fps are about the same but the experience is much better and would be still at 10fps less due to not having micro stutter and no stupid caps to deal with.
Also nice rvb refrence!

Lol, it's probably because I wasted so much time avoiding doing homework with that show. tongue.gif

Also here the 6950cf is basically equal to a stock 6990 which was on anandtechs comparison chart this is a comparison of 6990vs7950 which should be about on par with 6950cf to 7950. The fps are on average 3-5fps lower, some a little higher, but you get no micro stutter and you don't have to use CAPs to play a game or wait for weeks while a CAP comes out for a new game. smile.gif

6950 2gb unlocked x 2 = 7970.

Micro stutter is a bit overblown. If you have a well dialed out rig with no bottlenecks, it will be smooth. My kids rig, Junior 2500K is running 1/2 of my old quad 6950s, is smooth w/o issues. That said, being as fast or faster on one card is an ideal route, but it's often more expensive and a hassle.

Problems are relative. On my main rig, one 7970 is not fast enough. Two is not fast enough either. You catch my drift? There isn't a single card fast enough to run three screens, and with two cards you have to reduce IQ settings quite a bit so one ends up going crossfire anyways. wink.gif
