Makeshift Mosfet Cooling for 960t

Thread Starter
I was wondering if my 4+1 motherboard will be able to overclock with a homemade heatsink. I have a Gigabyte ga-970-d3. I have yet to put in my hyper 212 plus, but could I make heatsinks for my mosfet with this old heatsink? And one more question, could I use some thermal paste instead of thermal tape.

If I could, how could I make the heatsinks.

Cut out pieces of needed size and stick em on the mosfets.

Might need thermal glue or something like that for that.

Could I just take off the bottom pins and thermal paste it on sideways?

Also, could I just overclock as high as I can on stock voltage without getting heatsinks?

You need some type of adhesive or they wouldn't stay on there. Thermal tape is your best choice, but that looks pretty bulky of a heat sink to put on there to begin with. Although aluminum is easy to cut through with a hack saw.

You can gain a lot of cooling with something small like this.
