hey, i am struggling to decide which ram to go for, i would only be looking around the 16gb mark for now

I have seen corsair vengeance and g-skill ripjaws z but which is better?

Brand generally makes little difference other than warranties. What really matters are the chips being used on the modules. If you aren't going to overclock then get whatever offers the highest frequency with the lowest cas latency. If you intend to overclock, get the Samsung 30nm chips

The Samsung 30nm DIMMS are always popular for their performance, just as Corsair Vengeance is always popular because of it's appearance. Personally I went with the Ripjaws-Z
