FX--8120 looking for a good HS - Page 3

I tried H100 at first, it works very well, and I was able to hit 4.4Ghz easy.... but I end it up with "H100 Heavy Mod" with 2 reservoirs and 240+140 radiators in one loop.

I'm happy with this build for now but it's seems that I'm going to add 650pump and CPU water block as well for higher flow speed.

Thanks for all the comments. I did end up going with an H-100 and wow! ive only spent 15 minutes on this. i have it at 3.85Ghz (gonna work on that tomorrow thumb.gif )

idle is 14C! so far max was 26C... didnt run benches because i dont see a point yet. im going for 4.0Ghz tomorrow atleast.

ALSO, i have my SABERTOOTH installed and the required voltage to run stable is at 1.2625v instead of 1.35v and its at 3.85 instead of 3.545... I know what people say about closed water loops but theyre wrong.

EDIT: Coretemp seems to be SEVERLY OFF 77C and i know thats not the case cuz the fans would of kicked on. its just cuz TJ. Max is set to 90 when it should be at 70... i forgot how to change it lol. Anyone wanna help me out with this stupid problem? lol

EDIT: Just decided to use the thermal radar... Highest temp on mobo is 69C at VCORE-1 (hmmm i wonder why lol)... what it an acceptable temp for the mobo? i know not to let my cpu hit 61C but thats all. its 54C at the socket (not core temps).

so VCORE-1 and VCORE-2 were 69C and 65C and the socket was 54C before i decided to stop and wait until i get an answer because the temps rose every minute by 1C on VCORE-1 and 2. avereage on the board though would still be low 40's...

This temps you can see for a reason because FX do not benefit HT and NB overclock
this chip not like Phenom and by rising NB you not gain big performance just instability and boiling temps.

on this picture I keep HT and NB almost at defaults. as a result MOFSET not overheating and mobo keep in cold.

BTW make sure you use latest BIOS version, some older versions didn't support FX power control features.
