Glad my company could help them reach that mark. We sell a lot of RedHat into the medical, financial and HPC segments.

Go Linux!

I don't understand why people always throw that Bill Gates quote around, what does it contribute to the discussion other than 'haha you were wrong'?

Haven't played around with RHEL for about 2 years now. Interested in seeing what kind of updates they have made.

+1 for Linux!

I work with RHEL, my work uses it for their linux. Their support isn't horrible, pretty responsive, but like most companies, they are very quick to pass the buck when it's not a problem with Red hat products.

That was 11 years ago, how many people were wrong 11 years ago today?

RH is still a relatively small company compared to Microsoft who is 70x larger based on revenue.

Even counting servers where Linux has the majority(~60% v. ~40%, Linux and Windows respectively), the Windows ecosystem still makes up the majority of the revenue despite having a 40% install base.

But I'm proud of RH for actually making money... They really fly in the face of an OS that's considered communist in the OS world. They just prove that anything with enough support can be good, be it open- or closed-source

FYI: Windows(Capitalist greed), OSX(Fascist elitism), and Linux(Communist intolerance). ROFL...
