Not pleased with my first CM power supply

Thread Starter
I had read great reviews about the GX 450 power supply so I decided to purchase one and give it a shot over a Antec unit which i usually recommend. Well, the build quality looked good but it only lasted about a minute before she blew. Luckily, the protection circuitry must have kicked in and it didn't smoke any of the connected components. It's been RMA'd and I certainly hope I have better luck with the next unit. But it gives me an uneasy feeling about the line and since you have opened up this new forum, I thought I'd mention my experience.

What reviews were you reading? Look up phaedrus and in his sig there is a link to tons of power supply info. Cooler master for the most part is at the very low end of psu manufacturers...

You are correct. Coolermaster psu's aside from their top line are more or less junk though. Theres a ton of info and reviews to back up that statement as well. On this site and many others.
