Please provide proof to back that up. Using medium speed fans the extra push or pull should only provide a 1-3 C difference. The RX outperforms the RS by more than this. As well as the extra fans will end up costing more than buying the RX.

Thank you for correcting me (I searched before, but couldn't find benchmarks of an RS with push/pull, forgot about martin's testing though). +REP to you

However, it is still true that it will cost more for decent fans (such as gentle typhoons which would be the best).

The XSPC fans that come with the kit are surprisingly respectable, and certainly cheap enough to add another pair. If he's on a pretty tight budget, I wouldn't imagine he's spending the money on Gentle Typhoons on top of the kit. The GT's big claim to fame is their noise:performance ratio, if noise is less important, there are plenty of fans with a better cost:performance ratio, or even fans with just flat out better performance.

You should be able to get off the hook for ~150$ alright even with a custom loop.

Plus a little bit of tubing, fittings and shipping. As FrozenCPU is a bit on the expensive side store if going for something similar somewhere cheaper you should be able to squeeze roughly into a 150$ ballpark. It will not break world records but should be performing equal (or better, if you get a good deal somewhere) than the Rasa kit.

According to Martins review these "full copper" rads perform awesome for the price thanx to using copper tubing instead of brass to the point where the slimmer versions often outperform other manufacturers thicker versions with brass tubes. And they are only couple of dollars above the cheapest rads with brass tubes - so might make some sense if space is an issue.

You're looking at another $12-18 for barbs, a few dollars for clamps, $10+ for tubing, and the cost of fans, quickly taking that to noticeably more expensive than just getting the RS240 kit, plus you get the inferior X20 450 pump/res instead of the X20 750 the Rasa kit comes with. If you're trying to scrape by on a bargain setup, the kits are REALLY hard to compete with, even if you go used.
