Yeah that is quite low for how high those temps are. Pretty sure it would survive just fine but i personally would prefer lower temps. You could make a custom fan curve in afterburner. If you'd feel more comfortable at lower temperatures and a higher fan speed then go for it.

To stay under 80c in bf3 I need about 50% fan speed which gets quite loud.

If an overclock is stable it wouldn't crash after hours of stress testing. I'd be testing those clocks a bit longer. Also reboot when your overclock fails. I don't think the GPU works properly after crashing. You'll probably notice quite a fps drop in kombuster when running after a failure.

You can either increase v's to try attain that clock speed or settle for a lower clock.

This thread i started made me decide to settle for the highest speed available at default voltages because there is not much benefit from an overclock on stock cooling to justify the extra fan noise.

just bought a 6970 dual fan for £170

doing 975/1450 1.2v right now. will be honest if it fails but looks ok so far. unigine + 3dmark11 went good, furmark hit 77 degrees after 20 minutes xtreme burn in. fans set to 65% matches the ambient noise of my case so i can't really hear them.

Just to annoy all you guys. my card happily does 1000/1500. i found it will only achievce this thought if the temps are less than 64C.
now. its watercooled. never goes above 41C so alls good. kombustor and BF3 stable tongue.gif

And i forgot to mention. its not even a 6970 baaasmiley.gif
unlocked 6950!
