XFX 6950 4 monitor setup

Thread Starter
I'm trying to get a four monitor setup on a XFX 6950 2GB card.

I have two monitors hooked up to the two DVI ports. I tried hooking up two older monitors using Mini DisplayPort to HDMI passive adapters, and from the research I've done this wont work.

If I got two monitors with a DisplayPort connection and used two Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort adapters, will I be able to use four monitors?i.e. two hooked up with DVI and two hooked up with DisplayPort?

Just want to make sure that such a setup will work before I spend even more cash.. smile.gif

Thanks!

If the other 2 monitors have native DisplayPort input, it will work. Otherwise you will need active adapters to convert true DisplayPort signal to legacy device DVI or D-Sub. However, if the other 2 monitors support only HDMI, it will not work because no active adapter for it.
