Okay so the RAM is good. It worked in my Rig but im still clueless as to what is not making this PC post? aside the other connections aside the HDMI this dram light is still on and to be honest I just saw the mobos qualified vendors list as this ram not being compatible on the list. So I hope it is that

So just for the record is ddr3 ram running at speed 1333 ok with this cpu? I cant find any qualified vendors with the 1066 speed ram

Should be fine. Newer chipsets are fairly good with ram that isn't to spec.

Okay, here is a question. When you press the power button, do all the fans spin up? Do they stay spinning?

bahahaha. So simple! $100 says its because your trying to use HDMI output without having any of the drivers or OS.

No video card allows HDMI output without having the drivers installed before hand, and i'll bet my left nut its the same with onboard!

Try a DVI cable or a VGA cable. DONT USE AN ADAPTER!

I had the same problem with one of my rigs recently, because i didnt realise HDMI wouldnt work without drivers.

Wow that didnt cross my mind... i feel so F'ing stupid! lol! Alright I'm going to take your advice and do that. The DRAM light still flashes red though, but in any case you're on the right track. If I should have issues later on ill come back to this thread later in the day. Thanks again to everyone and goodnight! Hopefully I wont visit this thread later again thumb.gif

With my sig HTPC connected through HDMI to my HDTV, I didn't ever have problem going to bios or installing windows.
So no, I don't believe you need drivers to use HDMI output.

Well I called asus. They said there should be no issue using the HDMI for display regardless. And the ram was the issue like i thought. Since this is not my machine I can't do much but just replace RAM. mATX boards seem to be finicky with ram choices.
