Where's TF2? Valve makes excellent FPS games imo.

I know what you're trying to say, but you need a better way to describe it. Both of the games you mentioned have more in common with the classic FPS games that were hyper-focused on exactly running and gunning, than they do with "modern" FPS. CoD is actually more of a "Modern FPS".
Don't take that as me supporting CoD - I hate it. Give me Tribes or real (as in everything up to and including 2142) Battlefield any day.

Halo CE was an amazing game when playing some CTF on Blood gulch or even some of the smaller maps. Lots of teamwork needed if executed correctly. I remember 2 to 3 hour CTF games on those maps if you met a team of roughly even skill on XBC back in the day. Halo 2 had some good moments but when halo 3 hit it sucked really bad and has not been the same since. Too many personal perks and people started cheating and worrying only about the "slayer" modes. Getting a good CTF or assault game was hard to do.

Aside from the fact that I never ended up playing the original Halo on XBC, I completely agree with this post. Halo 2 4 vs. 4 CTF and assault is probably the most fun I've ever had in a multiplayer FPS. There were no perks that I can remember, other than if you played in ranked matches, you would get points if your team won (the only thing that should matter IMO, everything else is a distraction), a lot of players used head sets and while the players weren't always the most mature, a lot of them would actually talk about strategy even if it was just basic stuff (telling you where the opposing sniper is, how well guarded the flag is, etc.), and everyone had to do their part if you wanted to succeed.

Call of Duty is nothing but stupid fun. As long as you treat it like an old-school Arcade game, it is great at what it does. yessir.gif
