TweakTown has been on an NDA breaking spree recently. They published GeForce GTX 680 review and Intel Ivy Bridge reviews well before official time. Today, they have posted 3DMark 11 scores of NVIDIA’s upcoming GeForce GTX 670 on their facebook page. This upcoming little monster from NVIDIA scored 9006 marks in Performance run of 3DMark 11. In recent TweakTown reviews, HD 7970 scored 8240, HD 7950 scored 7008 and GeForce GTX 580 scored 6884 marks in 3DMark 11. This puts GeForce GTX 670 right below its bigger brother GeForce GTX 680 which scored 9606.

I'd be really excited for the 6xx series GPUs if they hadn't neutered the compute performance of them. AMD folding performance has always been terrible, and now Nvidia cut it out of their GPUs, leaving me little reason to buy a new GPU. I guess I'll wait for the 7xx series. For PC gamers though, the 6xx series is pretty sweet (minus the price).

I'm quite skeptical about this.

Even if this is true, real world gaming performance is likely to be +/- 5% of the HD7950.

I just hope its more readily available and priced decently (wishful thinking I know)

Why do they always focus on the P score. Who cares what the CPU/GPU combo score is. Forget the P score, that graphics score is only 700pts away from a stock 680, if the 670 is being run at stock. That's pretty impressive.

I think stock performance is what matters. Clock for clock comparison only gives an idea which architecture is better but in real life that doesnt matter if the other gpu is clocked higher.

If this is correct AND is stock I'll be surprised, nVidia would have two great & similar performing cards at I assume different price points... doesn't really make sense.

What would be useless information is a clock for clock comparison. 7970 has 2048 cores while the 680 has 1536, so how do you compare them?
