[TT] NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 670 2GB Video Card Performance Preview - Page 4

Regardless of how we feel, and yes an oc-ed 7970 will be faster than a 670. Stock vs stock it is what it is, in general. What i like is the performance/heat/power/noise. But what i hate is the fact that its written cheap all over the card and yet they price it @ 400$s or rumored. I think the "boost" given by amd to 1ghz is to counter this card so that they dnt lower the prices. But this card consumes close/lower than 7870 and beat 7950 and creeps up on a 7970.
Yea i do have my doubts on TT reviews, the lack of games and sometimes just weird graphs. We have to wait a few more days for official reviews.

Just my 2cents.gif

Perhaps this is why 680 supply is so slim. Nvidia knew the 670 was on par with it and that it would likely eat into 680 sales. So they sold a few 680s at launch, then focused on the 690 to retake the GPU crown. Keep 680 supply slim going forward, and sell a bunch of 670s at ~$400-450 and a few 690s at the price of a used car.

i dont see the problem with comparing reference cards. 6 months after the 670 is out we will likely see the same thing for it, still being right on par with the 7970.

They now sell a 680 with different name , slightly lower clocks and lower price , when they could just reduce the 680 price and done with it. If 670 comes with the same o/c potential too, then according to nvidia , all 680 buyers till today are $uckers. Just nvidia...

Sick of these reviews comparing the 7970's at the stupid 925MHz reference speed when there are plenty of other more reasonably clocked cards available...
Those happen to be 7970 stock clocks though, don't hate the messenger.

Soon, 7970's will be clocked @ 1 GHZ, but you already knew that. Makes me wonder if AMD got a sneak peak at this card, and that's why they decided to raise clocks...

Are people who buy 7950's suckers too?

What about people who paid $550 for 7970's?

ermmm GTX 670 performs better most of the time stock vs stock against the 7970.

When they are both oced, GTX 670 will still beat the 7970 but with much lower power consumption hence lower heat,(should oc better) .also GTX670 is half the size of 7970....

not to mention nvidia have better drivers, fxaa, adaptive vsyync, physx, geforce experience etc

Also the GTX670 is much cheaper than the 7970 as well.

What about people who paid $550 for 7970's?

What exact relevance does stock speed have to any of us here on OCN? What about any enthusiast who is reading a TT article? Don't give me this "most users don't overclock and only care about stock performance" BS. No user like that is reading a TT article about a new graphics card. Anybody reading that article is going to wonder what the ultimate performance of said cards is going to be so comparing artificially low reference clocks is just useless. That's why I stopped reading official reviews and just go by what I see here on OCN. The members here get far more accurate results from their hardware than any review site I have seen....

7900s were launched simutanously , so you could compare and make decisions. And yes they were overpriced.
With nvidia its like you buy 7970 and 1 month later launches 7950 with exactly same perf and 100$ less.
For either side green or red , 550$ payers are not suckers because they are willing to pay the price for launch cards , but they eventually become suckers after movements like the 670. At least 7970 had no compettion for 4 mothns.

sorry for my english.

Nvidia taking the price/performance crown, from the looks of it, AGAIN, wonder how the people who said that nvidia will always be more expensive for the same performance feel now?
