You do realize that the 7970 is faster in most games clock for clock at 1600p. Plus it has 50% more memory and 40% higher memory bandwidth.

the differences between 680 and 670 was greater than the difference between 670 and 7970 at 1600p. Perhaps you shouldn't exaggerate details to your favor.

Performance means absolutely nothing if you can't buy the card. Nvidia has so little stock of their 6xx series that people just can't buy them. They can be the best thing ever, but if you can't actually buy them who cares. Until they can supply sufficient stocks of their cards and cover all segments of the market they are losing to AMD imho.

I still consider the 6xx series a paper launch at this point. Just my opinion.

Completely pointless to buy the GTX670 if you have a standard 1080 or 1200 monitor (60hz).
Not if you want 60 FPS in the latest games. (Basically every serious gamer)

There's probably only two games you wouldn't get 60FPS on a GTX 660 Ti.

That's BF3 and metro 2033. Even 680 struggles to average 60+ FPS for them though. They are odd ones out, for 99% of other games you wouldnt need a GTX670 to get 60 FPS on 1080P

Well the fact is you can't actually purchase any of Nvidia's cards since their is no stock kinda makes your argument(i hesitate to call your childish comment an argument though) invalid.

As someone who has been looking for a 680 up until now I have to agree with you Gnomepatrol. Hopefully they will actually be able to keep these cards in stock but with how little supply there is for the 680s I'm skeptical.

Could not agree more BF3 is one of the most demanding games right now I am getting >80fps outside and >140fps inside with everything on ultra 16 x AF FXAA on high MSAA off @ 1080p. Dirt 3 maxed out >100fps, RE5 maxed out 190fps and HAWX 2 170fps. My rig right now is overkill @ 1080p. We are going to have to wait for the game developers to catch up to the card makers to justify running two 7970's or 680's on a 1080p monitor. The new consoles cannot get here fast enough for us PC gamers. I have full confidence that my rig will destroy console ports Bioshock Infinite and Crysis 3 @ 1080p. I will not need to upgrade for sometime.

Wow. Just WOW. The 670 trails the 680 by an average of only around 5 percent. That's with ~80 percent of the shading/texturing performance and ~92 percent of the ROP & frontend performance. This card is just full of win.
