Help me choose my new monitors.

Since I am still debating which direction to go in and I have added several new contenders, I wanted to get some more opinions.

I finally have my rig up an running, new desk with enough real estate to work with, and the finishing touches are the monitors. Everything else is completed.

I have been following the Korean monitor craze but I have my reservations about pulling the trigger on them given the issues that have plagued some users (not all). I want to get a reliable monitor, and while I would like to grab 2 IPS panels, the price for them in comparison to the TN is something that is becoming increasingly hard to justify given what I will be using them for. I will primarily be gaming and surfing the web with occasional DVD's and Blu-Rays thrown in for good measure. No photo editing, no need for viewing angles at all sides, and nothing larger than 27". I just want 2 DEPENDABLE monitors.

I have narrowed down the list to a few that I have seen with relatively good reviews for a good price point.

TN Panels
HP 2511x or 2711x
ASUS VE276Q
ASUS VS248H-P
BenQ XL2420T

IPS side
Catleap/ Crossover/ Shimian trio.
Dell UltraSharp U2412M
HP ZR2440w
HP ZR2740w

I have heard good things about all, with the occasional negative thrown in. I am just trying to find something that will serve me well as an everyday monitor for a while to come. While I can not overlook the price point for the value the Korean monitors offer, the bleeding problems, dead or stuck pixels, and lack of support definitely is something I have to seriously look at.

I would like to get some opinions on the monitors listed above please.

I have the Asus ASUS VE276Q. It's pretty hot..
The speakers suck, but the picture is incredible.. Also, it has AG on it, but I don't care for glossy screens.. my room is too bright.

I guess what I'm saying is, I am planning on going dual monitors soon.. I think I'll be buying these again thumb.gif

The BenQ looks amazing. The price is among the highest of the group I was looking at for a smaller screen, but the feature set on it is superb. I really don't have a need for 3D though, and for a TN panel, it is much pricier, but 120hz and 2ms response time......drool.gif

As far as speakers, I will be hooking them up to a separate set (Harman Kardon Soundsticks III ATM), so I have no real need for the monitors speakers. AG or glossy is a push for the most part. I am usually in a darkened room, so no real reflection to worry about.
