Streaming Games

Thread Starter
I have been working on being able to stream my game play to the internet and over LAN. I had heard that I was able to do it via VLC media player. I can get the desktop to stream just fine, but when I enter a game in full screen mode, it doesn't show it. It still just shows the desktop. Am I doing something wrong, or is VLC unable to stream my games like I've heard?

Thanks!

Hello, i use something called xSplit. It enables streaming over all the streaming sites, and It's free but if you like it you can buy an upgraded version for better quality and sound.

Using xSplit you should be able to stream over the internet and play your LAN games.

There should not be any black screen issues using xSplit as you set the screen region your self, you can also use a feature called 'Game Source'. This will just directly pick up whats going onto the screen through the game itself and not just your desktop.

I do recomend you xSplit over the VLC streaming because i believe xSplit has alot more features to do with the quality of the streaming.

Hope this helps. If you have any other questions message me, as i am a regular streamer. do check out xSplit it's a very good program.

xSplit isn't free, so that's out of the question. Thanks for the tip though.

It is free, actually. It's just made out to costly. With the free version the streaming is fine. I know xFire has a streaming part inside it of it, i havent tried it, but i have tried to help my friend stream with it and he wasent impressed, i havent used it so i cant comment.

But xSlpit dl page: http://www.xsplit.com/download/

All you need to do is make a free account

XSplit used to be a free open source program, but as soon as people started to actually use it the developers went back and started charging for it. If you want the free version you have to find the older version somewhere. But even then the old version is still really buggy.

me i recommand arcsoft solution for this(via opencl)but you will probably need to contact them forr yor specific setting.or you can go to their forum.you dont see xsplit or vlc on intel and amd site .you will ser arcsoft on amd site and intel site.not many corp can brag about this.so i would view carefully why amd and intel noticed this techno.when soome say other techno is better rhey mean it is inexpensive or free.i dont know about your time but mine is money .so for me arcsoft is better

Could try setting it to a window and then set the resolution equal to your desktop. Then remove the task bar.
