Gang,

Anyone used these Openbench cases?

519

or this one?

600

i prefer the first one, seems like it allows access to everything, where the send may prevent some access.. thoughts?

i like that first one, who makes it?
There are people who use them but they cater to people who really need them. Those who do a lot of benching with liquid nitrogen/dry ice can take advantage of the open space that a tech bench allows. Also those who are just constantly swapping hardware on a nearly daily basis will also enjoy how easy tech benches can make it. When it comes to the average gamer I don't really see the point in getting a tech bench other then the looks. They are open cases and therefore expect a lot of dust getting into it. Also a tower case provides a lot more protection when it comes to bumping into things or stuff falling on the case/tech bench.

So in conclusion, yes there are many members who use those tech benches but they are for specific reasons.

I thought it would look cool on my desk. Im the kinda guy that only really changes parts once a year so i have no advantage to open case other than looks. As fas as dust goes, it may get dusty faster, but wouldn't it be a lot easier to clean? So im kind of on the fence.

Seriously though, anybody know where to find the first one?
I don't know why you would want the first one, it looks cool, but it seems there is hardly any support system for the top tray, and then the tray the motherboard sits on just rest on the top shelf... and if you are already worried about dust, acrylic is going to be a nightmare for you.

Get a DimasTech, made in Italy, awesome case, easily accessable to the bottom shelf, good for watercooling set-ups, and its powder coated, not painted like most other cases. The way I see it, this is the last computer case I ever had to buy.

That is the first time ive seen the picture of the acrylic one, there are tons of custom acrlyic benches too, and that could be a one-off custom job.

Aside from the looks, I don't know why anyone would choose the top bench over a dimastech ( which is avalible in tons of colors )

I've always wanted to give one of these a try, think cable management would be a headache even with a modular PSU. But I think the challenger would be fun.

Let me know how it turns out

Not really, with mine anyway, they are all hidden in the bottom tray, and the only exposed ones you see are the CPU MOBO and GPU power cables, which i'm going to sleeve when I decide I'm bored enough to do it. At least in my system, the bottom is pretty well hidden with all the stuff I have in there. but the top looks nice and clean.
