Hopefully I'll be able to put some side by side benches to see if there is a significant performance gain. I do some Photoshop as well so I would guess it would help me slightly more in there as well.

Nice to see the original 1984 Autobot insignia and not the 2007 re-wamped insignia smile.gif

Is the decepticon insignia the '84 version too ? wink.gif

Other than that looks great and interesting build indeed.

I hit a snag on the motherboard issue. After a three week wait, I was told by the seller there was an "issue" with shipping. I will be getting a refund, but I don't have a board yet. Now I need to find another one. Anyone have an opinion on maybe picking up another board. I know I wont be using 50% of what most of these boards offer, but I do like to get max OC for benches. Kinda of torn between going all out or just getting a good board. I'm also adding a poll to see what everyone thinks. Can't say money isn't an issue, but this will be my last major upgrade for a while.

Here is what I have been looking at:

ASUS Rampage IV Extreme LGA 2011 (obviously rolleyes.gif) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131802

Well if you want to go all out, I'd wait for the ASRocks Extreme 11 (which I plan to pick up), according to the specs it going to be beastly (and $$$). Problem is theres no solid info on release, rumors say mid May though.

If you can't wait I think Rampage Extreme and Extreme 9 may be the best choices. It depends what you need though, I think the Extreme 9 has more SATA ports with different controllers while the Rampage Extreme has 4 PCI express lanes that can run at 16x, the Extreme 9 only has 2, ( I may be wrong about this so please correct me if I am).

Also if you check out the SB-E thread, most people seem to have the Rampage Extreme 4, if that matters to you.

I didn't realize that Extreme 11 was coming. That does look like a beats from what I did see of it. Thanks for throwing it in the mix and making things that much more difficult haha.

I'm about to put in my order to get here for tomorrow. Still trying to figure out if the Extreme is worth the extra $70 over the Formula. Anyone care to chime in?

EDIT: Nevermind. I found one on Amazon for $20 more so it was a no brainer. RIVE it is!
