Should I return my Agility 3?

So I needed to buy some RAM for my other build, and I decided that I might as well pick up an Agility 3 120GB at my local store. I paid $110, but there is a $15 rebate with a final price of $95.

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate in about 15 minutes along with my required drivers. I also installed Bad Company 2 and had around 70 GB free.

After I was completely setup, I ran benchmarks from AS SSD and noted the poor performance (200 MB/s read, 115 MB/s write). Compared to a Vertex 3 (500 MB/s read, 130 MB/s write), this drive was ridiculously slow.

So now I'm thinking, do I return the drive and get a Vertex 4 (on sale for $120) or just keep the drive and live with it. What do you guys think?

Personally I would go for the vertex 4. Have you updated your bios, chipset drivers and is the SSD using the latest firmware?

My BIOS is the latest version, but I have not bothered to update the firmware on the SSD because looking at official benchmarks of the Agility 3, the scores are approximately the same as mine.

Alright, I'll probably return it.

Where did you see those official benches? r/rw speeds shouldn't be that low.

But anyway you should still update the firmware before considering returning.

Don't return it.

In short, the benchmarks that you are running cannot utilise the SSD to its full potential due to the Sandforce controller and the way it works.

Basically some users on this site are misguided and will tell you to return it etc (As above) however to see the real speed you should run ATTO disk benchmark, this should give you true performance figures.
