GTX 580 6 Pin....

Thread Starter
Hi, I don't have an 2x 6 pin to 8 pin connector right now as I am waiting for it in the mail, so I got a little curious and decided to plig the 6 pin in the 6 pin slot, and another 6 pin in the 8 pin. Now, it powers on, but windows just automatically uses the integrated chipset and doesnn't recognize the 580. Is it normal that it doesn't recognize it at all?

It's never worth messing about with power delivery dude - especially on expensive components. Just don't use it yet.

If you don't have the connectors, don't run it tongue.gif My 6950 does this if I plug in two 6-pins (Asus DCII uses a 6 and 8-pin). It simply won't boot up the card to protect itself.
