Yup V8, I didn't even think anything about it. Guess I got lucky. biggrin.gif

And yeah, they treat packages great... I just got a UPS in the mail 2 days ago and the outer box (UPS was in it's own box) was literally open. Shockingly enough the UPS was fine and works great. Another great story is when I bought my P280, there was a huge gash in the side of the box like someone kicked it. Gotta love the shipping companies.

I may have him buy the Corsair A50 since its on sale right now : http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6101294&CatId=4314
Where can I get such bags and will they fit in the case and protect the components?

I'd still just ship it without trying to attach the cooler to anything. I'm pretty lazy though. tongue.gif

Usually have them at the shipping stores- haven't had to buy any since I've been recycling ones I receive. Recently had a case delivered with a boxed retail cooler inside the case to save on shipping. It was surrounded with air bags and held up very well.

I would avoid USPS, if anyone wants to see why I can post a pic of whats left of a BitFenix Outlaw I bought that they wrecked.

OK so change the A50 to the H50 then. I like that idea.

I don't think I can leave it up to my friend to install that...

Do I fill the inside of the case with them too or just the box? I was thinking of using the Case box to fit it all in there...

Inside, then surround the outside of the case with the dense foam to protect from dents, punctures, etc.

I worked for UPS as both a package handler and a driver, and I can say from experience putting "fragile" anywhere on a box is the worst possible idea. Those packages are handled by overworked, underpaid convicted felons (most of them where I was anyway). Nice people generally, but fairly angry on the whole. They do the best they can, but when someone slaps "fragile" all over a box it's taken as an insult and often the package will be deliberately kicked or thrown. This could have just been the culture in the facility I worked in, or even just the shift I was on, but it's food for thought. Despite all that I still ship only with UPS because the statistics I've seen show they tend to lose or damage far fewer packages than anyone else in the US. I've had a fully assembled PC survive a trip down the stairs so anything is possible...

i shipped a whole pc only twice and so far it turned out ok. for a large heat sink, i tried to zip tie it against the side panel and at the top of the case, non reference cards get the zip tie treatment too. and then i used a combination of air bags and peanuts to make sure everything is jam packed.

A few have already said this, but when I shipped my pc from NY to CA, I packed it full of packing peanuts inside, literally packed full of packing peanuts. Of course I made sure nothing was plugged in as I didn't want to damage connectors. And also UPS is the best for big packages and they're usually pretty fast. I constantly get huge packages from UPS (mostly car parts) and they all came in without dents on the box.

I am confident my friend can fit the graphics card in if necessary, everything else he can do eventually but the main goal is to assemble this desktop for him, install windows and dota 2, ship it to him so when he receives it he can take it out and plug in.
