You might be able to convince them to let you rent it for free or next to free. The place I bought LN2 from for 6 months let me have the dewar for the weekend for free if I brought it back Monday. Something to look into

The Nitrogen Australi guy told me $25 for a weekend...the only catch being it's 60 miles there and 60 miles back picking it up, and the same again two days later to return it. That is the closest LN2 and dry ice to my country bumpkin location. I've thought about this a lot and investigated the options quite thoroughly. Then I bought a half horse ss phase, but I want colder.... I have the feelers out for a 2nd hand Dewar, but no idea how long before I get a bite or even if I will, also considering I'm not clocking for an Aussie team....

I rented a dewar once from my LN2 supplier as I needed more for a very long weekend of benching and it cost me a whopping $90 a week just for the hire + normal LN2 price. That was for a 20L dewar.
I got really lucky with finding a dewar, got a second hand 35L unit from another bencher in perth who is no longer active. Cost me $500 and holds LN2 for well over a week with no issues. I hope you can get as luck as I did soon Bull, can't say I would have fronted up $1200+ from the get go.
I need to find a second dewar now as well though, with a gpu and cpu on LN2 it tends to run out very quickly.

I need to find a second dewar now as well though, with a gpu and cpu on LN2 it tends to run out very quickly.
