Gigabyte GTX 670 OC Version *HANDS ON* - Page 130

ok I need someone to check my head... I'm going crazy ... kookoo.gif

I'm thinking about returning my stable gigabyte card 1190Mhz (on boost) and taking a lottery pick on Asus non-TOP version? Is it worth the hassle....

I had it stable on +40 core and +400 on memory. I've had it running in heaven (max settings) for 5 hours and BF3 for 2.5 or something playing without crashing...

So is it worth it? paying $30 or so and going for non-top version...

Please HELP !!!!! wheee.gif

Yeah, return it ASAP !
Or else I wouldn't have the worst core clock anymore biggrin.gif

On a serious note, did you found your stable OC for the core clock without touching the mem clock ? +400 seems nice and you might be able to get a better result overclocking the core first ...

LOL...

Yes the core is at max stable... I cannot get any more juice out of it... I did apply memory offset after I found maximum core... I will most likely stick with the card... some non-top users cannot go to 1190 where some can go past 1300, it is a lottery in a full effect.. wheee.gif

boost clock 1228 mhz ( it's not a golden card!)

Memory 3750 mhz ( I am happy with that, could go higher, didn't try yet, but I think 3750 is enough)

Getting the Asus TOP isn't really a gamble. They're factory overclocked to hit 1242MHz up to 1267MHz (depending on the Kepler Boost you get). If it doesn't run at stock settings, then you should be able to RMA without issue since you payed for a binned card that should be capable of running at the factory overclock. Worst case scenario, you'd have to downclock to 1225MHz and that would run stable. I haven't seen a single Asus TOP that can't run stable at 1225MHz.

Derp, you said non-TOP. Nevermind tongue.gif

I hear you on the lottery....600 series is way more into effect than any other series when it comes to the lottery

My second 670 only boost up to 1205. That really sucks because my main 670 boost is 1287.

Does anyone think I should try and get a new one or just suck it up and deal with it?

If it isn't going to lose you any money, then I would say go for it and swap it out....but be advised... you aren't guaranteed anything on the replacement either frown.gif

what are you guys boosting "out of the box" anyway?
