So I just had a pretty scary moment lastnight. Stoopid me decided load the F4 BIOS for the GPU. It installed but I didn't have any stability. Since I backed up my original BIOS (F1), I reinstalled that but my stability was not where it used to me. I sorta ignored it until lastnight when turned on the rig and after getting the Win7 splash screen I got no video output. Seeing video in Windows Safe Mode, I figured it was a corrupt driver. Even after I install a WHQL driver, I still wasn't seeing video. I then realized the issue. If anyone is going to install the BIOS update, this is what you will need to do to ensure stability:
1) Using the Gigabyte VGA @BIOS tool, check your currently installed BIOS version.
2) Backup your GPU BIOS using the tool
3) Go to Gigabyte's site and DL the appropriate updated BIOS matching your BIOS series
4) Uninstall PhysX driver and your Riva-type tuner tool.
5) Reboot into Safe Mode
6) Uninstall all other nV associated drivers
7) Reboot into normal windows. At this time you should only have the standard Windows VGA driver installed.
8) Using VGA @BIOS, load and flash using the new BIOS that you DLed.
9) Reboot
10) Install your nV drivers of choice
11) Reboot and install your tuner tool and test.
For the guys who have lower core clocks, maybe you can give this a whirl and see if you get any improvement. BTW, my ASIC score is exactly 100%.

For the record, it seemed that the temps I was getting with the newer BIOS (F4) was actually hotter than my original BIOS (F1) and this was after I used my current fan curve. Also, it seemed to me that I got less stability as well. I went back to my original F1 BIOS and I can still score 52fps on Heaven with everything maxed at 1080p. In this testing, I didn't try 3DMark11 since I was crapping out at my current benchmark settings.
As an aside, I can no longer hit 1280 core clock stable anymore. I use 1275 but still yield the same original max fps that I did when I was able to run 1280. It MIGHT be driver related but I haven't spent the time yet to test that theory.
