Also for anyone looking to fit the EVGA gtx680 backplates to these Gigabyte windforce 670's, I have just tried to fit it, and you WON'T be able to use the supplied screws as they are a bigger thread size than what Giga. use. But, the stock screws are long enough to be used with the backplate.. I have attached an image to get a visual of what I mean. The yellow circles are the holes that can be used (ie with thread in the cooler) , and the arrow is pretty self explanitory. Basically with that spacer on the backplate it hits on the support brace on the top of the card, so it needs to be ground down so it can sit properly, otherwise it will have a fair amount of bow in the backplate. Hope this helps anyone looking to install the EVGA backplate. Also be very careful with the screws as the thread is very fine and could strip/crossthread very easily.

I think I have that honour. In Heavan my card sits in the low 70s at stock and around 77/78 when overclocked and that's runnin 60% fan speed frown.gif Have tried everything to keep it cool. Just accepted I have a hot card.

Does this BIOS increase the voltage limit or only remove the thermal throttle? My card doesn't play well with increased voltage.

I've flashed my BIOS to F12 and F4 for both my cards. Is there a reason they are both different? Does it matter in any way?

Here is my Heaven benchmark score on the highest settings:

I am running two cards in SLI. 112% power target, +80 GPU, +750 Mem. Boost clock of 1230 and 1205 for both cards.
I can only overclock to 1228.. Even with voltage mod.. My kepler boost is very low! It was 1114Mhz...mad.gif
post #1466 of 1506
I've maxed out at 1337 (great number, right?) On an unlocked bios.

+125% power target, 1.212v, +125 MHz. Memory is stable at +150, I just add 10Mhz every day before hard gaming. Figure I'll find the max eventually.

Hello
I got GeForce GTX 670 from Gigabyte, I removed Heat Sink Windforce3x, Now I am using With EK-FC680 GTX - EN (Nickel) + EK GTX 680 Back Plate.

Playing games like BF3 for 3 hours online multiplayer ultra 1080 Vsync adaptive on, FOV 90, Max Temp. mid 40ish, Idle is 28, Ambient is 28c.
Clocks Default Max Boost I have seen 1202.

Please tell me how to overclock in EVGA software.thumb.gif

Good information, just wondering where it came from? I didn't see any info on their website about bios versions for the cards.

If you've flashed your bios from F11 and saved an image of it, then flash it back to F11, download the vmod F12 bios and flash it. The program doesn't recognize the difference between the modded bios and the original one, so it give you the "bios version is the same" message.

Let me know if you need the F11 bios. I will try to send it to you in case you need it.
