I don't understand why this is still a Windforce 3x, when they are releasing their 5x soon.

Starting the 10th, I don't know how, if wanting to spend $1000 or less, people could go with a 690 instead of 2 of these. Assuming you have the power and slots, and don't care about maybe a little more heat, you'd be getting 680 SLI/690 performance for over $150 less. It's clearly the better way to go, unless it's already been shown that the 690 is one hell of an overclocker with it's 10-phase design.

Some same rig setup with a 680 compared to a 670 here: http://www.ukgamingcomputers.co.uk/the-nvidia-geforce-gtx-670-a-28.html

These are purely non existant benchmarks by the way hypocritesmiley.png

A stock 670 is not as good as a stock 680. Period.

Anandtech did run some OC'd benches where the 690 did indeed surpass 680 SLIs with a decent OC.

Hoping to find out for myself the OC performance of my 690 tonight and throughout the week...regardless, i'm still going to be keeping my 690. thumb.gif

But they don't show the 680 SLI overclock performance though, so the graphs are kind of irrelevant for any overclocker, since every 680 seems to have no problem hitting ~15% on the core. But yeah a 690 with an overclock seems to surpass 680 SLI, no question about it. Thanks for the graphs. I hope you got a great chip, congrats on the new card thumb.gif

Thx for your information Psikeiro thumb.gif I've been looking for this result but I prefer single card both in vantage and 3DMark 2011, if you dont mind smile.gif But its ok if you dont wanna test it or post it wink.gif

In regards to SLI results, again I'll mention that I'm no expert. I wanted to clock each card individually because I strongly suspected that the 2nd could go higher, much in the same way that the 3rd 670 OC owner 'rdmx' could apply a higher offset in afterburner than I could on my high stock boost card. But alas, I didn't know how to.

If my core has a base boost of 1202 and a maximum offset of about +160 to hit 1363
rdmx's core has a base boost of (unknown - but I strongly suspect its lower than mine, 300 GPU points lower @ stock) but his offset is larger at +185, with comments like 'Not sure how far i can push it'. and an end result of +1332, then I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he could have hit 1350+ clock like me if he pushed to failure like I did.

Then I can draw a similar conclusion with Oridin's card, that I had in 2nd slot SLI. I just didn't have the know how to apply / test it.

In any case, I would suspect a proper effort in SLI could indeed creep up on 20,500 maybe even 21,000 like the 680 users here.

Time will tell soon enough wink.gif some secrets are best left to stew.

From my understanding, only in lower resolution applications. Does that mean that keplar is more efficient when you have less shaders and ROP's?
