AvP, Call of Pripyat, and LP2 all have free stand-alone benching apps, all are DX11 and give cards a good run for their money when maxed out thumb.gif
I think once that's done we'll all be enlightened as to whether the 670 is really some magical card, or whether it falls behind by the expected amount. That amount is, IMHO, going to be just under 1/2 of the % shader count difference, roughly, on average across different apps ... just has been the case with the 2nd tier AMD cards for the past few gens.
Yup, this ... Hard to speculate how hard these cards will be to get w/o knowing the 'slightly faulty' chip supply.

agreed, against this card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125422 (is this a reference PCB) ?? biggrin.gif

So, to me this seems like the GTX670 OC is performing just as it was meant to. I don't see the big deal. Both are great cards. As you can also see, my GTX680 performs quite good against it. This is a reference GIGABYTE 680. Performing 8-13fp/s is not a slight difference. That's the difference of having, and not having 60 frames p/sec. in games like BF3 with everything turned on.

That's his factory OC 670 vs your personally OC'ed 680 though. His 670 still has a ton of OC headroom whereas your 680 is probably completely tapped out. A 19% difference in graphic score is still quite substantial though.

Didn't the original poster post a second mark score with a better OC on his 670? You should be comparing to that one.

9598 was my stock score. Yes it's a factory OC, but it's still stock. At max OC I think I hit 11,125. So is your test stock or max OC?

Anyway, the cat really is amongst the pigeon's now: 1400 core clock anyone? =]

According to this article this non-ref Gigabyte GTX 670 WindForce 3X like what the original poster has, is going to retail for $491. If that's the case then that means the reference 670's will probably be about $425.

Edit: That article doesn't say if it's USD (though it probably is), so keep that in mind.

We should be comparing a windforce 680 to a windforce 670 IMO. For all we know gigabyte could be running a more aggressive boost through their modified Bios.

If your score of 11467 is indeed max OC, and my max OC is 11125, then we're talking a 3% difference in performance for what is, in my country at least, a 27% price difference ($525 vs $670)

No sane person would be 'ok' with that, even if they were in denial about it. People don't like the feeling of being ripped off and as I had intended to buy a 680 that day, I can say that this is exactly how I would have felt on May 10th.

They didn't OC the reference 680 so that information isn't that useful. They're comparing an overclocked card to a factory stock reference card.

"Beyond 1100MHz clock was unstable without adjusting voltages"? Do they mean the TDP or something? I don't see the 'Core Voltage' slider activated in their pics.

Sad but true sad-smiley-002.gif
Like I said though, I always planned on getting these to hold me over until the monster 1.8v max-voltage 680 Classified. So, this relationship from the start was never built to last redface.gif. I'm glad you waited and got an amazing card though thumb.gif
