Good point. Never doubted Nvidia software department and driver support! thumb.gif

I'm downloading the 301.25 Drivers as we speak. Will report back to see if it does give a big boost in 3DMark11. I doubt it, though.

Or, you could install the 301.25 driver and find out which is faster.

There's no way that a card with less cores and lower clocks is faster than another card. ( Unless different drivers were being used, which seems to be the case here )

So the Gigabyte GTX 670 OC uses 1 x 8pin and 1 x 6pin, which might explain the 980mhz OC or does this mean more room for OC?

That's a bit rash, dude. It's one card and one reference point...I think you should at least wait a week for the 670 to actually come out. Besides, he's using newer drivers with the 670 than what you guys have with the 680...

Discuss!

I think it will be somewhere in the $400-420~ range; but if they can consistently OC to 980mhz, it means that 1000mhz, especially under water, is more than achievable, especially because Kepler OCs better at lower temp. deltas.

If this thing somehow does drop at $400, and the majority of cards can OC to 980Mhz like this Gigabyte Factory OC one can, it's game over for even an OC'd 7970, since the 915Mhz stock TT 670 managed to equal a (presumably) stock 7970 in their review...so if there's OC headroom for both...the 670 should keep up pretty decently, while costing much less....

Still doesn't make sense though, as Nvidia would be pitting this against the 680. But maybe that's why the stock was so limited? Who knows at this point...either way, they would win, as i've been saying all along that their goal is to drive up the demand for Kepler and flood the market with GK104 variants...

I think I'd wait until more people get their hands on 670's and start posting OC results before rushing to get rid of your 680's... rolleyes.gif
