So far from what I've seen in this thread is the factory boost ranges anywhere from ~140-220.

That sucks.. frown.gif Hopefully the power target increases can help out a bit with OC'ing.

Big thanks Saltius! i will let you know how it goes on monday!
Do you thing the gtx 670 will be able to flash to an 680 bios?
Some one has done it on those GTX670 which actually use 680 PCBs.
No more shaders, but higher clocks and larger power limit
which can be directly tweaked on 670 bios though.
So I think it is of no point to do the flashing.
If no brave soul will venture flashing a 680 BIOS, I'll try it when I get my cards later today and see if I can unlock power target to 150% instead of succumbing to a lowly 111%. biggrin.gif

I'm definitely willing to try this but I'm not sure which BIOS to flash. Is it just any one of the vanilla GTX 680 BIOS's or should I flash the Gigabyte Windforce 680 BIOS available here:

http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/118487/Gigabyte.GTX680.2048.120327.html

Edit: After looking at the specs of that Gigabyte BIOS the power offset is still only +11% so I would need one of those modded +50% ones correct?

Alright sorry for the double post.

So I went ahead and flashed the 680 BIOS to my Windforce 670 and I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that the flash was successful and I was able to unlock the +50% power mode:

387

The bad news is that it wouldn't allow me to overclock the card any further. It was still only stable up to 1323Mhz on the core which tells me that these cards need more volts than anything else

I can go no higher than 1225. Be thankful that you can clock almost 100MHz than me. tongue.gif

Yah it seems the power limit doesn't do a whole lot. I don't think I have ever seen mine go above 105%. Well other that furmark which maxed it but the core clock was like 60mhz below what it boosts in game so it was artificially loading the card.

Which bios did you flash to? Why is it still coming up as a GTX670? What did you use to flash it? Did you backup your current bios? If so, what did you use?

Thx mate thumb.gif

I flashed to the EVGA 680 BIOS that was modded to increase the max power offset from 132% to 150%. It was linked earlier in this thread.

IDK why it still comes up as a 670.

I used nvflash with the -4 -5 -6 flags to flash

And yes I did backup my stock BIOS (again using nvflash) and have already successfully reflashed the card back

What did you backup your bios with? NVflash? Doesn't seem to be working for me.
