Old Intel 1155 motherboard Question

Hi every one, so my computer was build the day socket 1155 came out with an i5 2500k and a asus motherboard. now i got offerd the exchange of motherboard because as we all know a problem was found in them and they started to sell the newer version. apprently the problem was that the sata drives will die after several months of usage execpt, if i remember, if i use the 6gb/s port. Now see the problem is that now a days i feel like my computer is getting very slow. i know i should i sent my motherboard for a trade but to be perfectly honest i really needed my computer and i couldnt go with out it for a week since i do everything on it , from school work to my job and entertainment. Ok so basicly my problem right now im releasing that my computer is getting very slow, it bugs and take for ever to load stuff, and my question is could it be because of the port ? or is it my hard drive dieing (since it is the oldest thing in the pc) my hard drive is a 500gb Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM . i did re install windows several time and yet the problem is stil there. could it be my motherboard ports dieing ? and if so what is the best suggestion ? gettting a new board ? or is it better to just upgrade by getting the 2011 chipset sine it would be a waste to get a nother 1155 motherboard.

basicly im sayng i got the old version of 1155 motherboard and i feel like my stuff is getting slow but not gaming wise like just loading and what not. and im not sure what it is. could it be the motherboard port ? or the hard drive it self dieing ,

Thanks alot in advance for any kind of help.

If you are that dependent on the machine, purchase a new board, and sell the other after it is replaced.

sounds like hard drive failure to me..maybe sata port..but hey..listen for hard drive clicking when you start your comp up..

Seagate's aren't known for being reliable..

If i do want a new hard drive what should i go with. Is a SSD worth it ?

So far my SSD has only been useful in boot times and restart times. I don't really use any apps that benefit.

If you are to get one, make sure the speed of it will be worth your while.
