AMD 960T !Overclocking!

Thread Starter
So I'm looking to overclock my CPU and to be honest I"ve never OC'd an AMD CPU before so i'm new to this field. I was wondering if i could unlock my CPU (get it to 6 cores) and still achieve the desired overclock without any hiccups... So if you guys could lead me in the right direction that would great! Also is it possible to overclock the CPU a bit without an aftermarket fan? Any suggestions on fans -- I'm sorta interested in the Corsair H60 or H80.

Thanks, Tcatcammando

go with the h80. your chip might unlock and better cooling will help in oc'ing. you can seek further help here . . .

http://www.overclock.net/t/1189945/amd-zosma-960t-1600t-1605t-cpu-club/1460

EDIT: you can just raise the multiplier up until prolly to 3600MHz. you can try higher at stock volts until it won't boot. watch your temp using hw monitor or speedfan. don't let the cpu temp go past 62C under load.

once you get better cooling here is the guide . . .
