Just finished my first mod, it's "unique"

So from this thread: http://www.overclock.net/t/1250460/need-some-help-ideas

you can get an idea that my "mod" wasn't going to a typical cut a hole, slap the glass and you're good to go.

The first problem was the heatsink tips sticking out:

600x400px-LL-9e37319a_IMG_8862-1400.jpeg

Then there was the issue of the non-flat surface of the side panel not to mention having to place an additional hole of some sort on the top right to allow a proper exhaust (and/or intake depending on testing).

first cutting steps led to this, but needed some minor mods
600x400px-LL-3c140b2f_1.jpeg

so I figured something like this would do

600x400px-LL-49092a4c_3.jpeg

All in all...here is what I ended up with smile.gif

400
400
400

A bit messy, but was too exhausted after cleaning up the mess of acrylic and the 3M tape, etc...

Was my first time using a dremel and the acrylic bit...so I think it was not too shabby for starters.

Thanks for looking! thumb.gif

Here you can clearly see how much of a pain that side panel was with the groove =/

Good workaround!

The only issue I see though is if you decide upgrade your cooler, you may be left with an odd hole in the side panel. confused.gif

While that thought did occur to me, this is just a sleeper comp and will not be getting any new upgrades smile.gif So that's taken care of thumb.gif

(otherwise, spend another $5 on an acrylic sheet tongue.gif)
