Intel 3770K Overclocked to 4.6Ghz - Gameplay Thermal Testing - Page 2

This is why people gotta stop making something of 100c on stress tests.

My 920 has been idling at 55c for 3 years and its fine.

Would you be willing to send me your old cpu and board seeing as you're extremely rich?

Maybe I do have a particularly good batch CPU, I can't be sure. Would be interesting if others out there reported their findings of temps during actual gameplay.

For those interested, here is a pic of my CPU with it's batch number details.

700

Maybe it's in 75th percentile with that voltage.

But 3213 is a batch I haven't seen yet.

Interesting. Most of the 3770k's I've seen discussed on forums haven't been manufactured in Costa Rica so I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

450

I just got this one today, made in Costa Rica too... SAME BATCH! bought from J&R.com last week arrived today. I'm building this rig for a friend. The cooler and RAM will be here by Tuesday or Wednesday. Maybe we can compare results or something... I'm experienced building computers but not so much with OCing... I can post the system specs soon also. What I have so far:

G.Skill Ares 2133 CAS 9 16GB 4x4 ram, H100 and 2 120mm Noctua fans... I have the P8Z77-v DELUXE , 128GB OCZ Vertex 4, Asus 12x Bluray burner, 2TB HDD I took out of an external USBed case, 850 Kingwin Lazer PSU 80+Bronze, It'll probably have 2 Sapphire OC'd 7770s running in crossfire. I'm gonna use IC Diamond Thermal paste I got a syringe of it around somewhere.

Hi I have the same cpu and noctua air cooler but on a asus p8z77-v deluxe how did you get your noctua to face front to back? Mine only went on up and down. Also mine auto tuned over 4.8 ghz but my voltage went up to 1.390 in turbov. aida64 said it was going up to 1.460v 90 degrees aida64 stress test. So I backed down the multiplyer down to 45 and my voltage to 1.340v 70 degrees. The voltage fluctuates up and down a bit. Always stable. With some of the games you tested my temps were 63 highest on one core. I would realy like to fit my cooler on the same way you have yours so I can fit all my ram. Corsair Dominator 1600 I have 2 of these boards. From what Ihave seen my voltages go way up higher then any of the post I have read. Is this a good thing? it's always stable. I will never use prime95 ever. As I have seen people wreck there cpu with it. The way I see it is if your stable with the games you play. It's all good.

Temps don't get too high during gaming, when you run prime95 or linx you'll see what I'm talking about.
