Good 23" or 24" monitor

Thread Starter
Hi,

I'm looking for a good monitor that is:

-23" or 24" monitor
-LED LCD Display
-Can be wall mounted
-hdmi
-For casual computing, gaming, hd movie 1080p 720p and some editing
-price not sure because its not the same here but maybe not over $400

considering lcd with tv tuner mostly comes with hdmi but read that will affect performance

Will post more details later thanks.

do you want a glossy or matte screen? I prefer matte finish, i hate the glare of glossy screens. If you dont mind glossy, here is a really good monitor

has all the features you want and its $182, lots of good reviews too

LOL 16:10 for movies really?
I don't recommend an IPS Monitor for watching movies because of this IPS-Glow and this aggressive AG coating.
Take a look at this one here:

Just note that neither of these monitors have HDMI, so you'll need a HDMI>DVI cable and a different way to get sound out of your system. Also, while 16:10 resolutions are nice, there will be black bars at the top and bottom when watching movies.
Neither of these are necessarily bad, just something you should be aware of.

I take it you'll be sitting back from your monitor a ways...

For my portable screen I'm using an AOC i2353ph. Its fairly decent the picture looks pretty good after spyder calibration. I've been in a few games and have not noticed any issues. Its a fairly cheap e-ips screen with no AG coating. Sitting right next to the window it is much more viewable than my Alienware m17xR3 which is really reflective.

I'm not sure a lot of people really know what they dislike. I thought I hated glossy (seen some really bad ones) but it was really the coating that annoyed me.
