Steelseries Xai Right Click Problem - Help?

Greetings!

So I have a steelseries Xai, love it to death. I bought it roughly 2 years ago and a few months ago my right click went stiff. Now it doesn't click at all. I can use the right click, but I have to press hard on the right click area and in an fps it will zoom me in and out while holding the button. I've never had to fix a mouse before. Clearly it is out of warranty and even if steelseries for some reason would fix it, I cant find anything documenting the purchase. So I sit with a mouse I love and a right click I would love to fix.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Any help would be awesome.

Hi,

you will have to open it up and chekc whats the issue.

There are quite a few possible root causes, so first would be to open and check if the microswitch is still okay.

However if the mouse is 2 years old you might want to use the opportunity to exchange the microswitches, they have a limited life cycle and will reach eos at some point.

If the switch is okay you need to check the plastic parts of the button cover and top cover. I dont have my xai at hand to check the inisde structure of that, but it is possible that the plastic got basically "scratched off" of the plunger and you would need some stickers to fix that.

If you are so insanely happy with that mouse you could also consider to go for a sensei or buy a new xai, probably the price dropped a lot.

- Does anyone know how to open to xai? I have never opened a mouse. I'm fine opening it to see whats up. I looked on google and youtube and founf a lot of box openings, but no of the actual mouse.

- I'm fine with buying a new mouse, if someone know of a mouse that is an improvement. I play in a fingertip style.
