But since I've moved over to PC and don't really foresee a good reason to go back I've had trouble finding an FPS that I want to start dumping time into. So far I've tried CS, Quake Live, Tribes, TF2, BF3 (not really competitive lol), and Promod. I do well in all 6 but was wondering (kind of hoping) that there were some good ones that I missed or haven't tried yet that are still competitive. I don't have a problem with putting in the time and effort as I have before. I'm just looking for the right game..feels like I'm looking for a new girlfriend lol. If there isn't any others that are still competitive I'm probably leaning towards Promod but even it seems to be dying.
TLDR: Looking for new competitive FPS that isn't CS, Tribes, Quake Live, TF2, BF3, or Promod
Thanks in advance and rep will be distributed where necessary thumb.gif
waits on dMaster..

haha, love the part that you put in size 2 font! tongue.gif

Right now there's honestly nothing big in the FPS scene, especially in North America. The whole FPS competitive scene is dying in North America.

Unreal Tournament has been dead for years now. (I don't know any tournaments/leagues for this game at all)

Quake Live Few online tournaments/leagues but it's nothing like it was even last year. As far as I know, there will be no large LAN tournaments for this game in 2012 either. (ESL, CSN and a few other places will be running tournaments/leagues. www.esreality.com is your best source for Quake leagues/tournaments)

Call of Duty 4 has been dead for quite some time as well. I quit playing this professionally after the first season, and it was starting to die half way through the next season. (CEVO is running a season, besides that I don't know anyone else who is....)

Team Fortress 2 I don't know this scene very well, but in my opinion this game competitively has always been dead. (83 Teams currently in ESEA, and about the same in CEVO. I don't know any other decent/good leagues for this game. The only LAN tournament I know for this game is ESEA Finals.)

BattleField 3 Don't make me laugh here, this game had no chance in the competitive scene. Thus why it's completely dead, teams like rivaL, etc have stopped playing this game right after the first Alienware Tournament.

Tribes Again I don't know this scene very well, but Tribes has never had a very big competitive scene. No tournaments that I have heard of yet.

Counter Strike: Promod Don't even waste your time, you get a handful of people playing it for a week after a update comes out and it's completely dead afterwards. I don't even think there's any servers up right now even.

Counter Strike 1.6 Biggest competitive player base currently for FPS, even larger than Source. WEG (World E-Sports Masters) and WCG (World Cyber Games) both have dropped CS 1.6. The only other world event left really is Intel Extreme Masters (IEM), Electronic Sports World Cup. (Leagues in North America include CEVO/ESEA)

Counter Strike: Source Source is right under 1.6 when it comes to player base. (Leagues in North America include CEVO/ESEA)

Counter Strike: Global Offensive Obviously in beta, but ESEA is already hosting a league, and the first season is already half way through. (ESEA Only currently)

Global Offensive has lots of potential IMO, and possibly your best option to get well known and improve as a player if you start practicing during the beta.

I honestly would of never saw this thread, someone pointed it out to me. I hardly ever look in the PC Games section. redface.gif

Let me know if you want to know anything else....

TWL IMO is a waste of time. TeamWarfare League is filled with bad players when it comes to games play CS/CSS/CoD. BattleField is about the only exception as TWL is there only option besides the Alienware Tournament that's ran by CEVO.

ClanBase is for Europe.

THERE YOU ARE! I've been waiting and knew you'd come by sooner or later.
@the BF3 part, I know it's not competitive really I was just stating that I really didn't want to play it and didn't want people to suggest it.
@the rest. I can surmise my feelings with 1 word. Dammit. The fact that it's dying in NA is something I've been denying but knew in the back of my mind that it was happening. But I didn't know it got to the point where they were dropping 1.6.
I'm fairly certain that Tribes is starting up leagues if what I saw on a stream was true they already have like 6+ pro teams.
Looks like CSGO it is then since you say Promod is deader than most things there. You going to compete in GO? Or are your tourny days done for now?

Haha, if my buddy didn't see this and point it out, I may not have stopped by.

Anyways, I actually am pretty active as school has finally settled down for me. Took me two years to figure out how to manage my time properly in college, but i'm finally there. I will be competing in CS:GO, unfortunately not in the current Season of ESEA because of how the sign ups were (34 teams only, and we signed up a few hours too late). Season 2 on the other hand, we will be playing in. From pugging GO on Source, I've seen tons of 1.6 pros enjoying the game. Definitely hoping CS:GO will unite the two competitive communities together as planned by Valve/HPE.

I've already attended a CS:GO LAN Tournament already. :]

I just realized you were talking about CS:Promod, not MW's. My reading comprehension takes a dive at work.

That's sad, TWL was great for ET, and once they dropped it a lot of US players ended up on CB. I totally forgot CB was a euro league, that game had such a large euro contingent that it wasn't that much of a change.

Oh well, hopefully CS:GO takes off and I'll see you guys there in some pubs. smile.gif

No you were right the first time, I was talking about CoD4 Promod. Sometimes I forget that it isn't the only Promod because it was the first one I had ever heard of.
