Would you like me to post results from those other 2 programs?

Sure,that would help.

Hey all,
First off, special thanks to Jang "Jay" Park (extension number 10070) for working with me. He works at a repair center who works with Samsung and I spoke with him when I called in.

I finally figured this problem out! I spent all day yesterday reinstalling Windows and benchmarking, using SP1/SP1-U and non-SP1/SP1-U discs. No dice. First off, let me tell you the difference between iaStor and iaStorV. Think of iaStorV standing for VERY OLD. If you have this installed, you can safely not use the "F6 Drivers" during install as Windows installed an Intel driver automatically during setup...it's just not new. Here's some driver dates/versions that may be helpful:

Latest as of 5/9/2012: iaStor, 10/17/11, version 10.8.0.1003
SP1/SP1-U: iaStorV, 8/6/2010, version 8.6.2.1015
No SP1/SP1-U: (aka RTM) iaStorV, 4/8/2009, version 8.6.2.1012

isStorV wasn't my particular issue but I figured it would be helpful for other people to know.

Now, on to some benchmarks.

THE FOLLOWING SCREENSHOTS ARE CONSIDERED NORMAL FOR A SAMSUNG 830 256GB SSD WHEN USING SATA II:

501

392

501

392

501

Notice anything odd about the last two screenshots? YUP! WRITE CACHING! I figured since I was using a SSD that I wouldn't need to cache anything. Apparently I do.

One other benefit we se to using the isStor driver over the iaStorV is the improved benchmarks in AS SSD, but one thing to note is that this was a single test and could be a fluke.

Here ya go!:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/

Type RST in the big search bar in the middle of the page and it will autocomplete and you'll be able to filter by your OS of choice.

Slovenec,

your speeds seem unrealistically high for SATA ll... your motherboard must be SATA lll

would you verify for us please.

Thanks
