Help with PSU !

Thread Starter
I just got the MSI R7870 Twin Frozr III.
I'm beginning to see artifacts :| I'm currently using a Corsair GS600 PSU.
Is the artifacts because of the PSU or something else?

If not suggest a good PSU. I'm on a tight budget.

or

Anything else in this price range ?
Thanks in advance !

Your Power supply is far more power than needed. Your card sounds defective. Are you using the latest drivers?

The PSU can't be the source of GPU artefacting. First of all, verify the drivers, and also verify the card is correctly inserted into the PCI slot. If nothing make change, sounds the GPU could be defective.
How have you encountered artefacts ? While playing or while trying to OC it and during a furmark stress test?

Sound like a GPU issue to me. Do what the previous guy suggested, if it doesn't help, then the card is defective and you should RMA.

If you get artifacts in games on stock speeds, request an RMA.

Im getting a 3dmark score of 1700 frown.gif My 5670 was better :|
Driver problem then ? So its not a PSU problem ?
In case of PSU problem, the related symptoms with the GPU would have let to black screens, or even blue screens / restarts. You should try each options : drivers 1st, then look if the card is correctly in the PCI-E slot. If you weren't doing stress the card in order to OC and check stability, the last case would be a factory default and then, go to RMA.

Remove all drivers completely (maybe use some tool, idk about these). And then try the most recent drivers from the website.

I ran the windows assessment (windows experience index) there was no artefacting and it gave a score of 7.9 which is max. I just got the GPU and sucks to send it back for RMA :|

Have you done a complete driver sweep and reinstall? The 7870 should beat a 5670 easily.
