display driver error

my screen turns a purple color and shows a lot of colored boxes, the turns black and corrects itself then bottom right corner says display driver has recovered from an error....what could be causing this?

Sounds like a graphics card error. Are your cards overclocked? If yes try setting them to run at stock speeds. If that's not it then try running each of your cards one at a time.
Also, what driver are you using?

Also, what driver are you using?

296.10 i believe. and this only does it at random times. just happend and it could be an hr from now, or tomorrow till it does it again. is there any video card tests i can do?
