Sorry for the Engadget style headline. Been spending too much time on that site I guess. rolleyes.gif

Anyway, I'm going to pull the trigger on one of these two motherboards within the next 2 days or so, and wanted some opinions. Pros/cons. Seems like there are a lot more RIVE owners on OCN, but the MSI board seems packed with features, and a tad cheaper. Let me know what you like about yours!

I'd like to hear some thoughts on this also. If anyone has either of these boards, do you regret your purchase or would get a different board?

Haven't had the chance to put the hammer down on my Xpower II yet, but one thing I can say for sure is that I HATE the bios. It's laid out in such a way where you have to dig for every setting, and when you do find the setting or menu that you need, you have to double click on it. I know that sounds minor, but it's extremely annoying.

Wait for the Asrock Extreme11. It will throw down the gauntlet and redefine what is excessively over excessive on the excessive tip!

Hadn't seen that Asrock 11 before. That one looks nice. Wish there was a release date on it.

Can I ask what made you pick it over the RIVE? I think its a prettier board, for everyone not doing a red/black build. And 2 additional SATA 3's, right?

Mid May. It will be an insane board. 4 way sli/cfx with FOUR x16 slots! Onboard LSI SAS, on and on.

Wonder how long it will take to get some options for waterblocks for it.

Everyone has a RIVE, and I'm not a big fan of Asus, Plus, it was fun trying to track down the MSI board.

It has 10 SATAs, IIRC. 4 of them are asmedia controlled.
