I have two Intel X25-M in Raid 0 that have not given me issues in over 3 years.

We don't know yet, the V4 is too new to judge ATM, we will when more buyers give their feedback, I'm actually thinking of getting one to try it out with the new firmware, AS SSD results are just great!

this. we dont know how oczs firmware is reliability wise. most of all drive problems are caused by the firmware anyway. this is why intel, and to a lesser but still good extent corsair and maybe kingston manage to make reliable sandforce drives. same changes to firmware and higher overall build quality.

Intel had custom fixes in their firmware. OCZ, Corsair and Kingston all share firmware.

I bought a Crucial M4 before the Vertex 4 came out, and I can tell you if I had to make a decision right now I'd go with the Vertex 4.

The Vertex 4 is $139.99 at NCIX, TigerDirect, and MemoryExpress.

The Crucial M4 is $120 + FS at Hookbag and TigerDirect.

Takes about an hour to back up, flash firmware, creating an offset (1024) partition in Diskpart, formatting and restore.

OCZ vertex 4 128gb..if your willing to trust OCZ quality/customer care (need more time to know about reliability)...else M4. Feeling a little risky?

I also highly recommend Corsair Performance Pro or Plextor M3 Pro over M4.

I agree with malikq86.

Southbridge should be taken into account here. Those of you showing superior V4 to M4 numbers all have Sandybridge, not the OP's Nehalem.

FYI - I think those SSD scores are also CPU dependent...so score will be lower with a Phenom II than a i7-3770K, etc. But don't quote me on that....not 100% sure.
